SIX STYLES TO RETIRE

I always wonder when a style or a look will look dated (and consequently make us look frumpy wearing it). Take a peek in your closet and see if any of these styles are lurking. if you love them- wear them fast.

Dad sneakers: wearing comfortable, chic lace-up sneakers is a go. What looks odd is the giant white athletic shoes (out of the gym).

Cold Shoulders and Bell Sleeves:  Whew! Anything that is fussy or contrived has a short shelf life. It’s interesting, though, that sleeve detail is still popular- just not so extreme.

Big Oversized Looks:  This is another whew. Clothing should never wear you!

Bedazzled, Baggy Denim:  Rhinestones on jackets and jeweled jeans look dated. Also baggy jeans look too much like “mom jeans” and not flattering.

Stiletto Heels or Mules: Again hurray! Flats are ruling this spring.

Fussy Ruffles:  A little goes a long way.
