Bootie Camp

It took me awhile to get on board for the bootie style because I thought that having a shoe end right above my ankle bone looked awkward and made my legs look heavy and thick. But as with any new fashion trend, my “eye” became accustomed to the look and I have found that the bootie can look great and be very versatile. When selecting an ankle boot consider the heel, your leg shape, and the width of the pant or the length of the skirt.

Heel Shape/Type
Style Looks Good With Leg Covering
Pointy
Dressy
Skirts, Dresses, Dark Denim
Tights, Bare Leg

Pencil Skirt, Skinny or Bootcut Jeans/Pants
Tights, Bare Leg
Western, Wooden

  • For the longest and slimmest looking leg- match the color of the leg (pant or tight) and the boot
  • Many jeans aren’t tight or long enough to tuck the pant leg into an ankle boot. Either wear a bootie or roll the hem of the pants so that the hem grazes the top of the boot (avoid 80’s Flashdance look)
  • Wear ankle boots with leggings or super-skinny pants
  • Long skirts work with boots when you wear tights the color of either the skirt or the boot
  • Always roll the cuff on “boyfriend Jeans” when wearing booties
  • Taupe or tan booties are a good alternative to black or brown and look more current

My favorite new pair of booties are by Aquatalia in a taupe suede. What is your favorite?

After reading your article, it reminded me of some things about gate io that I studied before. The content is similar to yours, but your thinking is very special, which gave me a different idea. Thank you. But I still have some questions I want to ask you, I will always pay attention. Thanks.
